The Nomadics Album Launch 'Green Shoots from Dead Wood'
Award Winning & Celebrated Festival Favourites at Fairbridge & Gascoyne Travelling Arts Festival & more recently touring with the Waifs - The Nomadics (Bec Schofield & Dave Mann) imbibe stories from the heart of Australia (which they traverse with their family in their off-grid tiny house by road & sea), then sing them out with a deep love for the world and each other.
"Their stunning harmonies drew me in, reminding me, what a beautiful thing is music" - Vikki Thorn, The Waifs
Their latest body of work has been deeply enriched with the addition of Tilly Kay’s harmonies and Sammy Liddon on upright bass. The Nomadics' latest album - 'Green Shoots from Dead Wood' features song, 'Wadandi Boodja' - which was nominated for a 2021 WAM song of the year award in the folk category. The 'Wadandi Boodja' film clip was a finalist in the 2022 Australian Independent Film Awards.
"This folk act is a balm, musical alchemy the world needs. I can’t get through a set of theirs without clutching at my heart, tears in my heart and hope in my blood" - Mama Kin
Tilly Kay Bio
Tilly’s velvet vocals combine with the rhythmic groove of Sam Liddon on double and electric bass. Long term partners yet only recently co-writing, Sam and Tilly bring an acoustic soul vibe that is spacious, rich and captivating.
You may have caught Tilly Kay performing at Strings Attached Festival, Denmark Festival of Voice, Nanga Music Festival or as a touring vocalist for Mama Kin. A versatile studio vocalist, Tilly also lends her voice to a variety of singer songwriter albums and projects. This gig sees jazz guitarist Michael Ellis joining the duo to drop his licks in all the right places. It’s a smooth fusion. Expect to be drawn in by the heart and soul of Tilly Kay.
